Women's Basketball finishes their season at Wilkes-Barre

Penn State Mont Alto's Women's Basketball finished their season on Saturday.  They fell in a close game to Penn State Wilkes-Barre, 68-61.  Mont Alto finished the season with a 3-13 overall record and 3-11 in the PSUAC.

Wilkes-Barre started the game ready to play and took the lead going into half time.  Mont Alto was trailing 35-27 after twenty minutes of play.  But Mont Alto was able to bring it together in the second half, outscoring Wilkes-Barre 36-31 but it just was not enough to make up for the difference in the first half.

Mont Alto was led by Aaliyah Daniels who had 17 points and nine rebounds.  Ayanna Hall added 11 points and nine rebounds, while Alexis Small grabbed 10 rebounds. Alicia Detwiler added 10 points.

"We got off to a slow start shooting 26% from the field and only getting to the foul line five times. Although our shooting percentage doubled in the second half and we got to the line twice as much it still wasn't enough to take the lead," commented Head Coach Donna Davis.

"With Alexis Small and Kendra Kilbert in foul trouble early in the second half Aaliyah Daniels came off the bench and scored a game high 17 points and shot 100% from the free throw line," Coach Davis added.

Mont Alto recorded their first win in three seasons this year.  They finished with three wins and look to build on their success in years to follow.
