Women's Basketball drops a game to York

Mont Alto Women's Basketball traveled to York on Saturday for a tough PSUAC match up.  York took the win from Mont Alto, 85-54.

"York defended their home court very well," Head Coach Paul Lundy comments.  "We are still trying to find our footing this semester and are not on track yet."

Due to injuries Mont Alto is playing with only six players and everyone worked together as a team to compete against York.  Three players were in double digits offensively.  Alexis Shaffer (Hagerstown, MD/South Hagerstown) came off the bench strong for Mont Alto, with 14 points and eight rebounds.  Both Dori Kozain (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) and Kendra Hilbert (Dover, PA/Dover) added 12 points each.  Once again Brooke Porter (Shippensburg, PA/Shippensburg) was aggressive on the boards with 11 rebounds.

"I am disappointed with our shooting so far," Coach Lundy adds.  "Shots that should and have been baskets in the past are just not falling.  We are not scoring easy transition baskets either.  Defensively we struggled getting into a routine and knowing where to be."

The ladies will be back on the road Wednesday January 22nd against Lehigh Valley for a 6:00 p.m. game.
