Women's Basketball plays a good game against Fayette

Mont Alto Women's Basketball went on the road Friday evening for their ninth PSUAC conference game of the season.  The ladies faced Fayette who was 7-1 in the PSUAC.  At halftime, Mont Alto was only behind by nine but was unable to catch up to Fayette in the second half.  The ladies dropped the game 81-55.

"I thought we played one of our better games of the season on Friday night," Head Coach Paul Lundy comments.   "We were in the lead 25-24 with five minutes to go in the first half against the first place team in our conference.  We wore down some at the end the half and allowed Fayette to get some easy buckets."

Alexis Shaffer (Hagerstown, MD) had a stellar game off the bench for Mont Alto, she tallied 24 points and nine rebounds.  Kendra Hilbert (Dover, PA) also scored in double digits, recording 10 points.

"Lexi was on a hot streak all night tallying a career high of 24 points for us.  Fayette did not have an answer for her and she was able to score at will," Coach Lundy adds.

"Our effort and enthusiasm was the best that it has been all season.  I am proud of the way the girls played against a very solid opponent on the road.  We worked together as a team and played at a high level for much of the game."

The ladies will be back on their home court on Tuesday against Schuylkill at 6:00 p.m.
