MONT ALTO, Pa. – Back on their home court after the thanksgiving holiday, the Penn State Mont Alto women's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack on Tuesday night in a 59-53 win over Christendom College. Mont Alto improved to 3-3, and will play again at home on Friday, Dec. 1 in its conference-opener against Penn State DuBois.

While Mont Alto maintained a slight advantage for most of the game, it wasn't until the fourth quarter that the Nittany Lions pulled away. Mont Alto opened the period trailing 39-36, but would tie it up at 39 points apiece after Charity Miller (Greencastle, Pa. / James Buchanan) converted on the backend of her free throw attempts with nine minutes remaining. The Lions would go on to outscore the visitors by a 20-13 margin and were aided down the stretch by a pair of Rebekah Adams (York, Pa. / Central York) layups and solid free throw shooting from junior guard Karley Coleman (Hanover, Pa. / Delone Catholic).

Charity Miller (Greencastle, Pa. / James Buchanan) led the game with 20 points, while reigning PSUAC Player of the Week Alexis Shaffer (Hagerstown, Md. / South Hagerstown) had her fifth straight double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Karley Coleman (Hanover, Pa. / Delone Catholic) also finished in double figures for the Nittany Lions pouring in 16 points, while adding five boards and three assists.

Mont Alto shot 37.9 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Crusaders 46-30.

Game time for Friday's matchup with PSU DuBois at the Multipurpose Activities Center is 6 p.m.
