Penn State Mont Alto 64, Penn State Wilkes-Barre 53

Autumn Fischer (17), Brooklyn Merryman (14) and Shanez Morales each scored in double-digits during Mont Alto's PSUAC victory over Penn State Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday evening by a final of 64-53. Following a one point halftime lead of 25-24, Mont Alto used a 24 point outburst to push ahead by 14 after three periods of play. Seven different Nittany Lions were involved in the scoring effort during the third quarter, paced by Fischer's eight points on three of six shooting.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre came out shooting the ball well during the game's opening quarter, leading by five points numerous times and as much as eight with a 16-8 early lead. Mont Alto battled back as they trailed 18-12 after one quarter of play.

Fischer and Merryman traded baskets in the early portion of the second quarter, each contributing four points to tied the score at 20-20 with 5:57 remaining in the half. A Shanez Morales layup would give Mont Alto just a three point lead at 25-22 with under three minutes left in the half. Stephanie Jaramillo converted a layup to trim the deficit to 25-24 and both teams went scoreless in the final two minutes of the half. 

Penn State Mont Alto went on an 11-0 run during the middle portion of the third quarter, turning a 28-27 deficit into a 38-28 lead in about three minutes of action. Aspyn Keetch made a three pointer on an assist from Colette Salyers with 22 seconds left in the quarter as Mont Alto went up by 17 points. Mont Alto led 49-35 following three quarters.

Wilkes-Barre wouldn't quit as they shot 38.9% in the final quarter to outscore Mont Alto 18-15 in the final ten minutes of action.
