Penn State Hazleton 66, Penn State Mont Alto 40

Autumn Fischer scored a team-high 12 points and Kirsten Dell added 11 as Penn State Mont Alto lost its season finale to Penn State Hazleton on Tuesday evening by a final of 66-40.

Mont Alto was ahead early 3-2 before Ashley James made a three pointer to put Hazleton on top 5-3. Justine Bernazeau helped give Hazleton a ten point first quarter lead on her jump shot with 4:07 left in the first as Hazleton led 14-4. Hazleton led after one quarter 15-8.

Dell converted on back-to-back buckets early in the second quarter to cut a 19-10 Hazleton advantage to 21-15 with 4:06 left in the half. Dell ended up scoring seven of her 11 points during the second quarter. Mont Alto trailed 30-22 at the half. Rocky Curry had ten points for Hazleton at the half to lead all scorers.

Hazleton would seperate and extend on its advantage in the third quarter behind a hot shooting quarter as they went 9 of 22 (40%), including four three pointers. Mont Alto shot just 16% in the third quarter and found themselves trailing 53-27 after three quarters of play.

Both teams played to a evenly matched fourth quarter with each team scoring 13 points. Fischer (5) and Dell (4) combined for nine of Mont Alto's 13 points in the fourth. Cassondra Rodriguez led Hazleton with five points in the fourth.
