Wrestling travels to Penn College Tournament

Penn State Mont Alto Wrestling team competed in the Penn College Tournament over the weekend.

Mont Alto was able to see more of the level of competition in the Penn State University Athletic Conference, with matches against Penn State Beaver and Penn College.

Mont Alto started the weekend off defeating Beaver, winning 38-6.  Chase Scott beat Beaver's Bobby Tempalski with a technical fall, 16-0 in the 157lb. weight class.  Lance Alderman won by decision against Dylan Winkle, 13-7 in the 165lb. weight class.  Mont Alto won by forfeit in five other weight classes.

Against Penn College in the last match of the day, Mont Alto had a more difficult time picking off wins.  They lost 40-9.  Tyler Warner earned a win by decision, 10-5 against Penn College's Tyler Kuntz in the 149lb. weight class.

"The forfeits against Beaver definitely swung the match our way but the forfeits against us during the Penn College match hurt us," Head Coach Bruce Kocsis comments.  "Tyler warner had a solid match against Penn College."

Penn State Mont Alto's next wrestling match is December 4th at Penn State DuBois at 7:00 p.m.
