Wrestlers represent Mont Alto at NCWA Championships

The Penn State Mont Alto Wrestling Team made history.  Wrestling has only been back on campus for its second year and three wrestlers qualified for the NCWA National Championships.   That is impressive.  The tournament was held in Allen, Texas at the Allen Event Center.  This tournament is the highest level possible for the Mont Alto Wrestling to compete.  Two of the three wrestlers that advanced to this tournament were freshmen.  Sophomore Nathaniel Proce was the upperclassman of the group.  Along with Proce were freshmen Tyler Warner and Kevin Norris

Proce wrestled in the 133 weight class and went 0-2 in the tournament.  Warner went 0-2 in the 141 class due to injury default.  In weight class 149, Norris went 1-2.  All three are finished and will not move on in the tournament past the first bracket.

This is a very exciting time for Mont Alto Wrestling as they are looking to build off of this experience.  Head Coach Bruce Kocsis traveled with the team to Texas and was very proud.  "Being at this tournament was a very good experience for the wrestlers and myself," Coach Kocsis comments.  "We wrestled well and we were competitive.  I believe we will be back here next year with more wrestlers and even more competitive."
