Mont Alto Wrestling is continuing to be impressive in PSUAC matches and non-conference competitions. As a team they are currently ranked 9th in the nation in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) as of December 10th.
Mont Alto also has six wrestlers ranked in the top 10 in the nation in the NCWA. Tyler Warner (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) 6th in the 141 weight class, Andrew Mellott (Carlisle, PA/Boling Springs) 7th in the 141 weight class, Clay Kocsis (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) 7th in the 157 weight class, Dale Nichols (Biglerville, PA/Biglerville) 8th in the 197 weight class, Jaron Burke (Reading, PA/Berks Catholic) 6th in the 285 weight class and MarQuil Holt (Hagerstown, MD/South Hagerstown) 8th in the 285 weight class.
"I and the coaching staff are proud of the team and individual results from the first half of the season," Head Coach Bruce Kocsis comments.
"The team has lost some tough matches in the beginning of the season due to several starters injured but those that have wrestled have stepped up in their place to help the squad reach one of our goals this year, being ranked in the top 10 in nation," Coach Kocsis adds.
