Collegeville, Pa. - The Penn State Mont Alto wrestling team closed the regular season and tuned up for the NCWA Mid-East Conference Qualifier in style Saturday, rolling over Penn College and Williamson Trade before falling to host Ursinus in a tri-meet hosted by the Bears.

Senior Clay Kocsis continued his incredible season picking up three victories from opponents from Penn Tech, Williamson Trade and Ursinus. Kocsis recorded a first period fall against John Carves, earned an injury default against Penn College and scored a technical fall in 4:15 against Patrick Rafferty of Ursinus in the 184-pound weight class. He remains perfect on the season at 23-0, as he looks geared up for the NCWA Mid-East Conference Qualifier next week in Treneton, N.J.

Grant Shughart got the Lions off to a quick start with a 34-second fall against Williamson Trade's Andy Schlegel. Teammates Jake Sechrist, Brandon Jackson and Kraig Freeman all received forfeits for Mont Alto. The Lions rolled over Williamson Trade with a 36-6 final team score.

The highlight of the match against Penn College was Jared Adam competing up three weight classes at 197 where he recorded the fall over Penn's Malcom Kone. Sechrist, Jackson and Freeman once again received forfeits in their respective divisions to aid the Lions to the 30-21 win.

Kocsis was the lone winner for the Lions earning five-team points against NCAA Division III opponent Ursinus College. The Bears topped Mont Alto by a 47-5 score.

Penn State Mont Alto finishes the regular season at 10-10 overall and were second in the PSUAC as they look to send several wrestlers to the National Tournament in Allen, Texas at the NCWA Mid-East Conference Qualifier.
