Wrestling Begins Season at Second Annual King of the Mont Invitational

MONT ALTO, Pa. – Dan Bertram (Seaford, N.Y. / Seaford), Mason Blank (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg), and Mitchell Krcelic (Huntington Beach, Ca. / St. Mary's International School) highlighted the performances of the Penn State Mont Alto wrestling team at the Second Annual King of the Mont Invitational on Saturday, November 3.

Bertram rallied from being pinned in his first two bouts and rebounded with a pin of his own in 1:28. He scored the pin over teammate Dominick Hyatt (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg) in the 125-pound weight class.

Mason Blank (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) was the most impressive wrestler on Saturday for Mont Alto as he wrestled at 133-pounds. Black opened the Invitational with an 20-2 decision over Ray Velez from Kent State Tuscawaras. Blank battled hard in his second match, but was pinned by Nate White from Lackawanna College in 1:01. In his third match of the afternoon, Blank scored a 12-4 decision.

At 157-pounds, Mitchell Krcelic (Huntington Beach, Ca. / St. Mary's International School) made his debut for Mont Alto and finished his day 1-2 overall. Krcelic scored a 12-7 decision over Thomas DeGaetano in his win.

Penn State Mont Alto returns to action on Saturday, November 10 at the Ursinus College Fall Brawl.
