Mont Alto Wrestling Finishes 7th in the Gettysburg Invitational

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto wrestling team competed in the Gettysburg Invitational and had a couple standout performances. Freshman Jack Coulston (Carlisle, Pa. / Boiling Springs) went 2-2 in the 141-pound weight class and Ron Schilpp (Severna Park, Md. / Severna Park) earned a win at 174.

Coulston finished fourth competing against local NCAA Division III schools. He earned an 8-0 major decision over Sean Thompson. His other victory came via 9-5 decision over Mesiah College's Garet Cornell. Teammate Conner Herron (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) picked up a victory via a fall in 1:36 against Thompson.

Schlipp lost to his opponent from Alvernia University before battling Messiah's Isaiah Castellucci. The 174-pounder earned a medical forfeit over his opponent and finished his day 1-2. 

PSUMA finished with 8.5 team points for their seventh place finish. The Nittany Lions return to action next Saturday when they host the Mont Alto Fall Quad. Wrestlers from Penn State Fayette, University of Maryland (WC), Thaddeus Stevens and University of Maryland (WC) are slated to compete at 10 a.m.
