Wrestling Finishes Up Weekend Competing in the McDaniel Green Terror Duals

WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Penn State Mont Alto wrestling team dropped a trio of wrestling matches on Sunday at a quad meet hosted by McDaniel College. The Nittany Lions fell 38-9 to Alvernia University, 34-3 to the University and Scranton and dropped a nail bitter 31-18 to nearby Gettysburg College.

Inside the Duals:

Sophomore Mason Blank (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) won two of his three head-to-head matchups. He scored a 12-2 major decision at 133 over Alvernia's Corey Jenkins. He also earned a first round pin against Gettysburg College's Ethan Greensburg to earn the Nittany Lions team points. At 184, Nick Kostyak (Carlisle, Pa. / Boiling Springs) out-muscled his opponent for much of the match and scored a 20-5 technical fall over Jonathan Vough.

The Nittany Lions scored their lone three team points against the University of Scranton courtesy of sophomore Bryce Palamar (Smithsburg, Md. / Williamsport). Palamar squeaked out a close 10-9 decision earning late points within the third round.

Davon Williams (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) wrapped up the day pinning Jon Stix from Gettysburg in the heavyweight division in just 52 seconds.
