Women's soccer shuts out Penn State Scranton 3-0

Penn State Mont Alto 3, Penn State Scranton 0

Penn State Mont Alto did not allow a shot on goal as they won their third straight match on Tuesday afternoon by defeating Penn State Scranton 3-0. Madison Eberly, Avery Diehl and Sydney Allison each provided goals for the Mont Alto offense during the conference victory. The win keeps Penn State Mont Alto atop the PSUAC standings with a 4-0 record with one more conference game remaining against Penn State Hazleton on Friday evening.

Avery Diehl started the scoring early with her third goal of the season during the third minute of action on an unassisted tally. Diehl's goal would be the only goal during the half as Penn State Mont Alto had plenty of scoring chances but failed to find the back of the net for the remainder of the first half.

Sydney Allison scored her first goal on the season during the 53rd minute Tuesday on an unassisted goal. Madison Eberly would score Mont Alto's third goal of the contest when she found the back of the net on an assist from Rachel Merrill. For Eberly, the goal marked her seventh on the season.

The Penn State Mont Alto defense preserved the shutout the rest of the way as Mont Alto hung on for a 3-0 win. Madison Eberly (5) and Avery Diehl (4) combined for nine of Penn State Mont Alto's 23 shots on goal in the contest.
