Kathiegong  Williams and Annette Deutsch remain undefeated in PSUAC Women's Tennis

 

The Penn State Mont Alto Women's Tennis Team recently completed an undefeated 2013 season.  This season marks the final year for women's tennis in the PSUAC.  Coach Alan Smith states, "Penn State Mont Alto women's team was definitely the best team in our league.  While we lacked numbers, the quality of our players was superb.  We have had the best two women's players in the conference for the past two years."

 

 

Mont Alto's women have dominated their opponents over the past two years. Annette Deutsch of Wallpaupack High School in Pennsylvania and Kathiegong Williams of Oakton High School in Maryland were both undefeated at #1 and #2 for two consecutive years. Here are their impressive stats:

 

Annette Deutsch [#1 singles/doubles with Williams]

  • Perfect 12-0 in singles matches; 12-0 in doubles matches
  • Did not lose a set in any singles or doubles match
  • Singles record: 145 games won/25 games lost [85.3% win/loss]
  • Doubles record: 128 games won/28 games lost [82.1% win/loss]
  • 2012 PSUAC Champion and Female Player of the Year

 

Kathiegong  Williams [#2 singles/doubles with Deutsch]

  • Perfect 12-0 in singles matches; 12-0 in doubles matches
  • Did not lose a set in any singles or doubles match
  • Singles record: 134 games won/13 games lost [91.2% win/loss]
  • Doubles record: 128 games won/28 games lost [82.1% win/loss]
  • 2012 PSUAC Champion and First Team All-Conference
