Mont Alto hosts first round of playoffs against Brandywine

The Penn State Mont Alto Women's Volleyball team hosted the first round of PSUAC playoffs on Monday, October 26 against Penn State Brandywine.  Mont Alto defeated Brandywine 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-10) for a ticket to University Park for the second round of playoffs against Penn State Beaver on Saturday, October 31 at 4:00 p.m. in Rec. Hall. 

The championship match will then follow on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at University Park's Rec. Hall.

Mont Alto dominated the last showing on their home court this season. "We tried a new line up that allowed us to run a faster tempo on offense," said Coach Drue Hoffman.   Co-Captains Jenn Stremmel and Alyssa Politi displayed leadership and determination for their last home game ever. Mont Alto is looking to keep up the intensity and stacked offense this weekend as they look towards a victory in the championship game. 

The top two teams in the PSUAC advance to the USCAA's national championship tournament in Louisville, Kentucky set for November 5-7.  This would be the first appearance that the Penn State Mont Alto Women's Volleyball team would make in a national championship tournament. Penn State Mont Alto recently joined the USCAA providing its teams the opportunity to compete nationally. The volleyball team is focusing on PSUAC this weekend and setting their sights towards Kentucky the following weekend.
