Volleyball wins two at home

The Women's Volleyball team hosted Harrisburg Area Community College for the home opener of their 2010 season on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.  HACC took the first game, 25-22 but Mont Alto came back in the second, winning the next three games 26-24, 25-17, and 25-23.  "They came together as a team tonight and put forth a lot of energy and heart, it was a great way to open the season in our gym," explained Head Coach Drue Hoffman.

The ladies welcomed Christendom College on Saturday.  It was the first time the two squads have competed on the volleyball court.  Mont Alto came out strong and sent Christendom home in three games, 25-17, 25-8, and 25-18.  Coach Hoffman was proud of the team's performance, "We started to find a rhythm and have really become a close knit group. The eight players are working together really well. With continued improvement, we (the coaches) are seeing positive progress from match to match. The players are beginning to apply an aggressive tempo to the match."  The ladies now sit with a record of 2-3 overall and start conference play on Wednesday at Penn State York for a 7:00 p.m. match.
