Penn State Mont Alto Women's Volleyball team hosted their second annual DIG PINK event against Penn State York in October.   All of the proceeds from donations benefited the Side-Out Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) organization located in the Washington DC metropolitan area.  Funds are currently devoted to targeted therapies and molecular profiling where there have been breakthroughs in diagnostics and treatment.  Side-Out also devotes a portion of the funds to local and national "Life with Cancer" support organizations. 

The money has been counted and totaled, with donations from both York and Mont Alto Women's Volleyball teams; the goal of $3,000 was reached and exceeded.  The event included t-shirt sales, silent auction, raffle prizes and a serve-a-thon.  "We were very pleased with the turnout of fans at the game and are so very thankful for all the support and donations from all our sponsors," Associate Director of Athletics Ashley Jacobs comments.  "We are very proud of our Women's Volleyball team for all of their effort in promoting the event to sponsors and as well as Penn State York who contributed $1,000."  The teams combined raised $3,086.27 towards the fight against breast cancer.
