The 2011 season is beginning to shape up. The team is young at most positions.  We are training a new setter this year in Lauren Chapman and planning to play three to four freshmen on the court at most times. The learning curve will be straight up for the team and they are continually getting stronger with each passing practice. Once the ladies become comfortable with each other and their play, they will be a challenge for teams in the PSUAC and the USCAA. They will have several early season tests to get themselves ready for the PSUAC season.  They will be facing Penn State Harrisburg, Harrisburg Area Community College, Hood College, McDaniel College, and several others over the first two weeks before starting the PSUAC's on Wednesday September 15 at home against Penn State York. The team has set a few goals this year; one is to be a loud, talkative team on the court, second is to side out 60% plus of the first serves made by the opposing team and third is to win the PSUAC. The team is also focused in the classroom, where they have set the lofty team goal of attaining a team average 3.2 GPA this semester. The ladies are also looking to improve their work for their Dig Pink event, as they have set a goal to raise $5,000 plus for the Breast Cancer Research program through the Side-Out Foundation. The ladies will be working hard this year, in the classroom, on the court, and on the fundraising side.

The ladies of Penn State Mont Alto Volleyball are a great group of women who give 100% of themselves in everything they do. They are willing to improve, willing to work, and they strive for excellence. I am privileged to work with such a great group of student athletes
