Volleyball wins home-opener against Central Penn

 

Penn State Mont Alto Women's Volleyball team hosted their season-opener on Wednesday night.  Mont Alto defeated Central Penn in three straight sets, 25-11, 25-19 and 25-8.

 

 

Although, the team consists of mostly freshman and one sophomore they are starting to really play well together.  The ladies are starting the season on positive note with two back to back wins. Mont Alto controlled the game from the beginning and dominated throughout the whole match. 

 

 

"The girls came out firing with excitement for their home-opener.  They are really starting to mesh well together on the court," stated Head Coach Jenn Stremmel. 

 

 

Freshman setter, Lacie Mosteller led the team with 22 assists and six service aces.  Sarah Bortner, freshman, was also impressive with nine kills and five services aces. 

 

 

"Katie, Melissa and Alyssa all did great defensively, leading the team in digs."

  

The ladies return to action at home on Saturday, September 14th against York at 12:00 p.m.
