Women's Volleyball remains Undefeated in PSUAC

Mont Alto Volleyball won 6 straight sets this weekend.  On Saturday September 14th, Mont Alto hosted York for a 12:00 p.m. match.  The first set was back and forth but Mont Alto pulled through with a 25-21 win.  By the second set, the ladies were ready to go.  Mont Alto dominated game two and three, 25-12 and 25-11.  Several players contributed to the 3-0 win.  Freshman, Sarah Bortner led in kills putting up nine.  Alyssa Booth and Bortner both did well defensively with a combined 15 digs. Overall the team had a total of eight aces for the match. 

 

 

Saturday, September 14th vs. York

 

Game 1: 25-21

Game 2: 25-12

Game 3: 25-11

 

 

The ladies were back on the court on Sunday when they traveled to Penn College to face the 2012 PSUAC Co-Champions.  Mont Alto went into the game with a competitive attitude and it showed.  They swept the Wildcats in three sets.  Although Mont Alto won all three, it was a high energy match and good competition between the two teams.  Dori Kozain hit an impressive .44 hitting percentage with five kills on nine attempts.  Melissa Orlandini led the team with 13 kills and Bortner put up seven kills on the board.  Bortner also led the defense with 12 digs and Katie Graham wasn't far behind with nine. Setter, Lacie Mosteller, had 27 assists in today's match.

Game 3: 25-20

 

 

Mont Alto Volleyball is now 3-0 in the PSUAC and 4-0 overall.  They look to continue to keep the winning streak going as they travel to Hood College on Monday September 16th for their third match in row.
