Volleyball dominates four PSUAC matches

 

Mont Alto Women's Volleyball team went undefeated this weekend in four PSUAC matches.  Mont Alto faced two teams Saturday and two more on Sunday.  In those four matches, they did not lose a single set. 

 

On Saturday Mont Alto won in dominating fashion in both matches.  They played Penn State Worthington Scranton first and allowed only five points scored in three sets.  Mont Alto won 25-1, 25-0, and 25-4. 

In the second match of the day, Mont Alto faced Penn State Wilkes-Barre.  They won 25-4, 25-8 and 25-10. 

Lacie Mosteller had 26 assists on the day while Alyssa Booth had nine digs and Melissa Orlandini added 14 kills.

 

 

Mont Alto returned home on Sunday for two more conference matches against Penn College and Penn State Hazleton winning both 3-0. 

 

In the first match against Penn College, Mont Alto won 25-11, 25-18 and 25-20.  Mosteller added 29 more assists.  Orlandini had 10 kills and Sarah Bortner added 11. 

 

Against Penn State Hazleton, Mont Alto won 25-9, 25-15 and 25-6. 

 

"They continue to impress me with their ability to complete the challenges I give them," Head Coach Jenn Stremmel comments.  "The girls not only impress me on the court but off the court as well. We have a great time together as a team and I know that will help immensely when they face tough competition on the court."

 

Mosteller finished the weekend with a total of 84 assists. Orlandini had a team high 32 kills, while Katie Graham and Bortner added 22 and 25, respectively.  Orlandini also led the team in digs with 34 and Mosteller had 10 service aces. 

 

"We pulled out a solid four wins this weekend and we are all looking forward to what the end of the season will hold for us," Coach Stremmel adds.
