Volleyball drops a close match to Brandywine

The Mont Alto Women's Volleyball team dropped a close match to Penn State Brandywine despite the 0-3 score.  Brandywine was able to edge out Mont Alto in each set but only by a couple points.  Mont Alto lost 17-25, 23-25 and 23-25.

The team was led by Melissa Orlandini who had 13 digs and 11 kills.  Lacie Mosteller continued her success with 34 assists, while Sarah Bortner led the team in kills with 14 and recorded eight digs.  Katie Graham had 12 digs and eight kills.

"We knew going into Saturday's match that it was going to be a tough game with already having a 5 set loss to Brandywine earlier in the season,"  Head Coach Jenn Stremmel comments.  "We fought back in the second and third sets after being down but it just wasn't enough to pull out a set with close 23-25 scores.  We certainly look forward to facing them again in playoffs this weekend," Coach Stremmel adds.

#3 Mont Alto will host the first round of the PSUAC playoffs on Tuesday, October 22nd at 7:00 p.m. against #6 Penn State Beaver.  The winner of that game will travel to State College on Friday, October 25th for the final four round of the championship.  The final four matches will be at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and the PSUAC Championship game will be played on Sunday, October 27th at 12:00 p.m.  Both Friday and Sunday's matches will be played in Rec Hall at University Park.
