Lions Fall to Christendom On the Road

FRONT ROYAL, Va. – Despite a season-high 16 kills by Hannah Kauffman (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) and a team-high 16 digs from Allison Meyers (Greencastle, Pa. / James Buchanan), the Penn State Mont Alto volleyball team was defeated in four sets on the road at Christendom College. The Crusaders won set one, 22-25, and after a 25-20 set two victory from the Lions, Christendom took the remaining two games by 25-15 and 25-13 scores.

Katelyn Muse (Hagerstown, Md. / Boonsboro) had 36 assists as well as four kills. Alexis Shaffer (Hagerstown, Md / South Hagerstown) had two blocks to go along with six kills. Courtney Stump (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) and Alexis Smith (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle) each had 15 digs with Stump also adding seven kills.

Mont Alto will have a big weekend in terms of PSUAC play with matches scheduled against PSU Hazleton and PSU Lehigh Valley on Saturday and conference contests with PSU Scranton and PSU Wilkes-Barre on Sunday. Mont Alto now sit at 9-5 overall and 7-3 in the PSUAC.
