Mont Alto Volleyball Completes Sweep of PSU York to Win Fifth Straight

YORK, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto volleyball team rolled through PSU York in straight sets (25-5, 25-8, 25-7) on Wednesday evening to complete the season sweep over its PSUAC rivals. Mont Alto has now won five straight matches for the second time this season and improved its record to 14-5 overall and 12-3 in the PSUAC. 

Reigning PSUAC Setter of the Week Katelyn Muse (Hagerstown, Md. / Boonsboro) had another strong match totaling 16 assists and nine service aces, which totaled 73 on the season. Alexis Smith (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle) served up five aces of her own and had four kills.

Senior Hannah Kauffman (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) was the top hitter totaling nine kills on 12 total attacks.  The Lions combined for five blocks in the match with Hannah Geesaman (Shippensburg, Pa. / St. Maria Goretti) and Hannah Kauffman (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) each tallying a pair of block solos.

Mont Alto returns to action on Tuesday, October 24 as the team will celebrate Senior Day against Penn State Schuylkill in a 7 p.m. match.
