MEDIA, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto volleyball team was unable to overcome 21 kills from Fayette's Siteri Tale with Mont Alto falling in the PSUAC Semifinals in four sets (19-25, 25-16, 21-25, 12-25). Fayette revenged an earlier season loss to Mont Alto to move on to the PSAUC Championship in Rec Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Sophomore Katelyn Muse (Hagerstown, Md. / Boonsboro) had a game-high 30 assists for Mont Alto to go along with seven digs and two aces. The top hitters for the Nittany Lions were Courtney Stump (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) who had 11 kills as Hannah Kauffman (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) and Alexis Shaffer (Hagerstown, Md. / South Hagerstown) each contributed eight kills each.

Fayette was able to force 10 Mont Alto errors in the first set, but it was all it was Mont Alto in the second set winning 25-16. It was a back-and-forth affair in the third set with the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds combining for four different lead changes before Fayette squeaked by 25-21. Nine more errors helped Fayette to the decisive fourth set win.

Stump had 18 digs in the loss with teammate Allison Meyers (Greencastle, Pa. / James Buchanan) chipping in 15.

Brandywine and Fayette win square off in the PSUAC Championship on Tuesday night at Rec Hall in State College.
