Katie Muse Named PSUAC Setter of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Mont Alto junior Katie Muse (Hagerstown, Md. / Boonsboro) was named Penn State University Athletic Conference Setter of the Week on Tuesday.

Muse was instrumental in leading Mont Alto to a 5-1 week, which included a perfect 5-0 record during the PSUAC Crossover Weekend.

Muse set a season-high 12 services aces in the sweep over Wilkes-Barre and has steadily increased her assist total in each match this season, including a season-high 44 in the thrilling five-set win over Penn State Brandywine. She added 26 helpers against Penn State Lehigh Valley and another 20 assists against PSU Wilkes-Barre, before she most recently posted 32 assists against Penn State Scranton. Overall for the week, Muse averaged 8.0 assists per set.

This fall, Muse stands third in the conference, tallying 6.17 assists per set, while totaling 290. She is also sixth in the PSUAC in service aces with 34 to date.

Mont Alto (8-8, 2-3 PSUAC) looks to continue its five-match win streak on Wednesday, October 3 when it hosts PSU New Kensington for a conference match. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
