Courtney Stump and Katie Muse Honored on the Fall All-Conference Teams

2018 Volleyball PSUAC All-Conference Awards

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Senior Courtney Stump (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) and junior Katie Muse (Hagerstown, Md. / Boonsboro) highlighted the Mont Alto volleyball players honored on the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) All-Conference Team announced on Tuesday morning by the conference office.

Stump earned first team PSUAC recognition for the second-straight season after amassing 238 kills, her 3.13 kills per set also ranked fifth in the conference. Her 312 digs ranked third in the PSUAC and ranked her 13th at the national level. The decorated senior likely closes out her collegiate career with 562 kills, 92 service aces, and 787 digs.

Katie Muse (Hagerstown, Md. / Boonsboro) was recognized on the Honorable Mention team and ended her junior season with a career-high 221 digs, 54 kills, 47 service aces, and led the team in assists with 537. The setter tailed 6.80 assists per set, which ranked second in the PSUAC. She had a season-high 44 assists in the 3-2 win against Penn State Brandywine as well as a career-high 12 aces against Penn State Scranton on September 30.

Mariah Alvarez-Parks (Philadelphia, Pa. / Parkway Center City) received the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award, which is awarded to a deserving student-athlete from each sport team within the conference that embodies the Penn State values and PSUAC philosophy.

Penn State Mont Alto concluded their season in the PSUAC Quarterfinals on October 24 in a hard fought four-set match. The Lions finished the 2018 season with a 12-13 overall record and were 4-6 in the PSUAC.
