Randy Hood's senior class leaves Mont Alto with a 50-31 record, three PSUAC playoff, and a USCAA National Championship appearance. For seniors Rachel Manikowski, Alyssa Roberts, and Kimmy Harker, Saturday marked the end of their incredible Mont Alto careers.
Fresh off a win over The King's College earlier in the day. Mont Alto swept Penn State DuBois and will face off against UC Clermont for the USCAA National Championship Saturday at 4 p.m.
Junior Kylee Gooding led Mont Alto with 12 kills in the opening round match. Gracie Vaughn followed up with nine kills of her own. Rachel Manikowski and Kylie Denlinger each had 14 digs.
After gaining the three seed in the National Tournament, Randy Hood's squad will look to bring some hardwear back home from Virginia Beach to Mont Alto. They will have their first chance towards the title, facing off against PSUAC Champion Penn State Greater Allegheny on Thursday morning.
The volleyball team dropped the first two sets before gaining the third set. They were unable to complete the comeback and their postseason fate will rely on a potential at-large bid Thursday evening.
