Volleyball: Penn State Mont Alto 3, Penn State Scranton 0

MONT ALTO, Pa.- Mont Alto volleyball started off their weekend on Saturday with a commanding win over Penn State Scranton in three sets (25-4, 25-10, 25-3). The win moved Mont Alto over .500 in PSUAC play with a 3-2 conference mark and a 5-6 overall record. Elizabeth Trella paced the team with six kills on 11 attack attempts. Victoria Clifton (8) and Sydney Tracey (7) were dominant on service with a combined 15 service aces.

Volleyball: Mount Aloysius 3, Penn State Mont Alto 0 

Mont Alto turned around and faced off against MAC opponent Mount Aloysius for the final of their Saturday matches. After battling the first two sets, losing each 25-22, the Mounties commanded action in the third set, winning 25-12. Trella once again led the team in kills with 10. Brooklynn Sheridan led in assists with 11 and Ashlyn Vandenbree had 10 digs.

Molly Richards led the Mounties with 21 kills on 40 attacks (.450%). Reghyn Wilson had 26 assists and Molly Richards and Poliana Lazarini had a combined 33 digs on the defensive end. 

Volleyball: Penn State Mont Alto 3, Washington Adventist 2  

Mont Alto volleyball traveled south to take on Washington Adventist Sunday evening in non-conference action. Adventist took the first two sets 25-23 and 25-11. Mont Alto would force a fifth set after winning the next two 25-23, 25-6. Adventist led the fifth set 5-1 before Mont Alto would rally. A solo block by Abigail Wagner tied the set up at 5-5, capping off four straight Mont Alto points. An attack error later in the set saw the Nittany Lions only up one point 11-10. With the score 12-10, three consecutive service aces by Brooklynn Sheridan capped off a Mont Alto comeback 15-10. Trella hit .267 in the match with 11 kills and Arianna Davey hit .462 with seven kills on 13 attempts.
