Lions Show Well in the McDaniel College Green Terror Races

Westminster, Md. – The Penn State Mont Alto cross country teams competed at the Green Terror Challenge Saturday morning with the men's and women's runners having the option to race in a 3K, 5K, or both.

Levi Canon (West Middlesex, Pa. / West Middlesex) paced the Mont Alto men in the 3K finishing 7th overall with a time of 11:39.98. Darius Carter (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) finished 18th and Mathew Eyler (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) crossed the finish line 22nd with times of 13:09.18 and 16:33.32, respectively. Jonathon Parsons (Shade Gap, Pa. / Commonwealth Charter Academy) made his debut for the Lions with a time of 21:37.30. McDaniel's Gavin Gibson won the race crossing the finish line in 10:07.77. 

Canon and Carter also competed in the 5K finishing fifth and ninth. Canon finished in 20:08.91 and Darius Carter turned in time of 23:50.39.

Mackenzie Rogers (Mount Union, Pa. / Mount Union) competed in the women's 5K for Penn State Mont Alto. Rogers ran well finishing sixth overall with a time of 28:21.78.

The Lions have the week to train before competing in the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational on Saturday, September 23. The women's 6K race will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the men's 8K at 1:45 p.m. at Norlo Park in Fayetteville, Pa.
