Mont Alto Cross Country Runs Well at Frostburg State Invitational

Frostburg, Md. – Sophomore Levi Canon (West Middlesex, Pa. / West Middlesex) was the top scoring male USCAA athlete Saturday morning competing in the Frostburg State Bobcat Invitational for Penn State Mont Alto.

Cannon raced to a team best 14th-place finish for the Nittany Lions at the Maplehurst Country Club and its 8K course by completing it in 31:14.79.  Competing in his first-ever collegiate event freshman Joel McEnnis (Lebanon, Pa. / Cedar Crest) also ran well finishing 47th at 37:16.38. Darius Carter (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle) earned a top-50 finish in the 73-man field. He crossed the finish line in 38:01.50.

Mackenzie Rogers (Mount Union, Pa. / Mount Union) competed in the morning's earlier 6K race and ran a season-best time as well. Rogers, finished 42nd and crossed the finish line at 31:30.84, which was a little under three minutes faster than last week's pace at the Mont Alto Invitational.

The Mont Alto runners return to action next Saturday, October 6th at the Goucher College Cross Country Classic.
