Mont Alto Cross Country Continues Season at Hood College Invitational

FREDRICK, Md. – The Penn State Mont Alto cross country runners competed in its final tune up before the PSUAC Championships on Saturday at the Hood College Invitational. Runners competed at Utica Park in Fredrick, Md. with the females running a 6K and the men an 8K.

Alexis Moreno (Boiling Springs, Pa. / Boiling Springs) had a season best finish of 35:23.70, which was good for a 82nd. The Lions were competing against 11 other institutions, most of which were NCAA Division III. The top male finisher for Mont Alto was Levi Canon (West Middlesex, Pa. / West Middlesex) who crossed the finish line 42nd at 29:59.60. 

Joel McEnnis  (Lebanon, Pa. / Cedar Crest) competed in his third colligate race and finished the 8K in 35:31.60 and Darius Carter (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) finished four spots behind him at 96th. Carter ran a career best of 36:10.10. Freshman Mathew Eyler (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) also had a season best time of 42:02.90. 

Mont Alto will host the PSUAC Championships at Norlo Park on Saturday, October 28. The Lions will be competing against the seven other Penn State branch campuses  that field a cross country team with races set to begin at 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.
