Cross Country Announces Fall Schedule of Competition

MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto cross country teams will report to campus in just under a month and on Wednesday, head coach Bill Preston announced the 2018 schedule. This season includes eight competitions, including two meets at nearby Norlo Park.

The Nittany Lions will open up the 2018 campaign running under the lights at the Galen Piper Alumni Open/Shippensburg XC Challenge on August 31. The team will then compete at the Green Terror Challenge, which is hosted by McDaniel College on Friday, September 7.

Mont Alto will host the Mont Alto Invitational at Norlo Park on Saturday, September 22. This meet will certainly serve as a Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) championship preview.

PSUMA competes at the Frostburg State University Bobcat Invitational on September 29 and then will participate in the Goucher College Cross Country Classic on Saturday, October 6. The Lions are scheduled to race at the Hood College Invitational on October 13 before having a week off to prepare for the conference championship.

Mont Alto is hosting the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Championship at Norlo Park for the third consecutive year on October 27, which ends the regular season. The USCAA National Championships are set to take place on Friday, November 9 in Virginia Beach with female runners competing in a 6K and male runners challenging each other in an 8K race.
