Cross Country Competes at Home Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - The Penn State Mont Alto cross country teams hosted it's home invitational at nearby Norlo Park on Saturday morning with the women competing in a 6K race and the men in a 8K race.

Freshman Madison Ford (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) was the top finisher for Mont Alto with an 30:00.00 finish to place 3rd, while fellow newcomer Lauren Goldberg (Reading, Pa. / Exter Township) finished ninth crossing the finish line at 33:58.00. Freshman Rozz Monnin (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) made her collegiate debut and placed 14th with a time of 40:56.00.

Kent State-Tuscarawas' Mallee Vazquez was the top finisher in the women's 6K at 29:11.00 and Washington College brought home the team award.

Penn State Fayette won the men's team title for the 8K race with Washington College's Jack Dodson crossing the finish line first at 29:34.00.

Competing in the men's race for Mont Alto was Darius Carter (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) who finished 19th with a time of 40:24.00 and Dan Bertram (Seaford, N.Y. / Seaford) who ran in his first ever race and finished 24th at 45:45.00.

The Penn State Mont Alto cross country teams compete next at the Frostburg State University Bobcat Invitational on Saturday, September 29 at 10:30 a.m.
