FREDRICK, Md. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Hood College Invitational at Utica Park on Saturday. Each runner that competed for Mont Alto produced a season-best time in either the women's 6K or the men's 8K race.

Madison Ford (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) led the way for PSUMA in the women's race finishing 43rd in 27:04.8. Lauren Goldberg (Reading Pa. / Exter Township) finished strong and placed 84th with a time of 31:46.8.

In the men's 8K race, Darius Carter (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) improved upon his time last year in the event shaving nearly two minutes off as the sophomore crossed the finish line in 35:27.9.

Mont Alto is idle until competing in the Penn State University Athletic Conference Championships on October 27. For the third-straight year, Mont Alto is hosting the conference championships at nearby Norlo Park. The women's race is slated to begin at 1 p.m. with the men's race to follow five minutes after the completion of the 6K race.
