UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – For the second time this fall, Penn State Mont Alto's Madison Ford (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) has been selected as the Penn State University Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week the league announce on Wednesday.
Ford led the way for Mont Alto in the Hood College Invitational 6K race on Saturday, finishing 43rd. The freshman ran a season-best time shaving nearly four minutes off her previous best as she crossed the finish line in 27:04.8.
Mont Alto is idle until competing in the Penn State University Athletic Conference Championships on October 27. For the third-straight year, Mont Alto is hosting the conference championships at nearby Norlo Park. The women's race is slated to begin at 1 p.m. with the men's race to follow five minutes after the completion of the 6K race.
