FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto cross country team competed in the Penn State University Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships and had two runners place in the top-10 of the women's race on Saturday afternoon. Penn State Schuylkill was crowned the women's champion and Penn State Fayette claimed the men's championship.

Runners battled the elements at nearby Norlo Park with temperatures in the mid-40's to go along with a steady rain especially during the women's 6K race. Mont Alto's team featured two runners in the women's championship and Dan Bertram (Seaford, N.Y. / Seaford) competed in the men's 8K championship.

Bertram crossed the finish line 29th with a time of 41:35. The sophomore completed the race over four minutes faster than his previous time on the course at the PSU Mont Alto Invitational in September.

Madison Ford (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) earned First Team All-PSUAC honors with a third-place finish. Ford completed the race in 29:13, which was 47 second faster than the time she recorded on the course earlier in the season.

Teammate Lauren Goldberg (Reading, Pa. / Exter Township) just missed out on earning all-conference honors as she finished the race in eight-place. Goldberg crossed the finish line in 33:47.
