BALTIMORE, Md. – Freshman Joel Minicozzi (Hedgesville, W.Va. / Hedgesville) finished seventh in the men's 8K and sophomore Madison Ford (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) placed ninth to pace the Mont Alto women's cross country team at the Goucher Ciollege XC Classic.
Minicozzi finished seventh on Saturday with a time of 33:42.41, which was a personal best. Teammate Simon Egolf (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) crossed the finish line 11th with a personal-best 35:22.63. Rounding-up the PSUMA runners were Jacob Geesaman (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) and Andrew Walker (Carlisle, Pa. / Big Spring) who finished 20th and 21st. Geesaman finished the 8K race in 41:14.49 and Walker was right behind him at 41:14.33.
It was also a season-best time for Ford when she crossed the finish line ninth at 34:18.14. Also running for Mont Alto was Elizabeth Parsons (Shade Gap, Pa. / Commonwealth Charter Academy) who finished 16th with a recorded time of 38:01.96.
Penn State Mont Alto returns to action on October 19 at the 13th Annual Hood College Open in the final tune up before the PSUAC Invitational Championships.
