Hipple leads Cross Country at Goucher

The Penn State Mont Alto cross country team traveled to Goucher College on Saturday afternoon to take part in the Coach Caslin Cross Country Classic. 

 

In the women's 6k race, Sarah Hipple placed 15th with a time of 27:51. Moravian's Tara Smurla placed first overall with a time of 24:03. Goucher's Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw finished second (25:18) and Moravian's Amber Poniktera placed third (25:52).

 

Gabriel Brandt paced the men's side with a 20th place finish, running a time of 29:48. Gabriel Schubring finished 41st with a time of 32:55. Kyle Davis was close behind Schubring with a time of 36:16, coming in 45th. Andrew Sallie placed 53rd, running a 40:39. Owen Nahf from Moravian won the men's race with a time of 26:43 and teammate Shane Houghton was .2 seconds behind finishing in 2nd. Hagerstown Community College's Thomas Bildheiser placed third with a time of 27:27.
