Mont Alto Hires Jennifer Deinlein to Lead Cheerleading Program

By: Frank Maira, Assistant Director of Athletics/Sports Information Director

Mont Alto, Pa. – Director of Athletics Staci Brennan is excited to announce the hiring of Jennifer Deinlein as the new cheerleading coach at Penn State Mont Alto. Jennifer has already started in her role and is actively recruiting members for the Mont Alto sideline cheer program for 2017-18 season and beyond.

"I have long admired the Penn State Mont Alto cheer program and am so thrilled to be named head coach and become a part of the great athletic tradition on campus, " said Deinlein. "It's a homecoming of sorts as I was born and raised in this area with my father also being a PSU Mont Alto alumnus."

Deinlein graduated from Susquehanna University with a bachelor's degree in mass communications and most recently served as the head cheer coach at her alumnus. While at Susquehanna, she directed a squad of 16-22 college cheerleaders at practices, camps, games and other performances, ensuring safety during stunting and tumbling. She was also directly responsible for all fundraising efforts, choreographing and teaching new material, as well as oversight of all team travel.

She has also made coaching stops at the J. Frank Faust Jr. High School in Chambersburg, Pa., with the Virginia Mutiny (semi-professional squad) in Manassas, Va., and as the head coach of the cheerleading program at Marymount University (2000-04). Her accolades at Maymount included a first-place finish at the 2003 Capital Athletic Conference Championships, a fourth-place finish at the 2004 UCA Rutgers University Camp Championships, and had four top-10 individual finishers in CAC competitions.

Jennifer is the mother of two children and currently resides in Fayetteville, Pa. with her husband Joe.
