Three Mont Alto student-athletes earn PSUAC POTW status

Three Penn State Mont Alto student-athletes were named Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference Player of the Week receipients following their performances over the last week of competition. Golf's Darian Mort and Cross Country's Gabriel Brandt and Sarah Hipple all earned POTW honors.

 

Darian Mort

Darian Mort finished with a round of 85 at Penn State Greater Allegheny where the season’s opening tournament was held. This performance landed Mort as the team leader at this tournament. He helped lead the team to a runner-up finish as well. 

 

Gabriel Brandt

Gabriel Brandt finished 58th overall at the Galen Piper Alumni Open/XC Challenge over the weekend at Shippensburg University. He finished the 6k with a time of 22:08. Brandt is coming off his breakthrough freshman season where he was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association male Runner of the Year.

 

Sarah Hipple

Sarah Hipple began her collegiate career at the 12th Annual Galen Piper Alumni Open/XC Challenge on Friday at Shippensburg University. The first-year runner competed in the women’s 4k, placing 65th with a time of 18:58. The meet marked a return home for Hipple, a Shippensburg native.
