Baseball's season ends with loss to Apprentice 7-1

Game Story

  • Penn State Mont Alto's season came to a close with back-to-back losses at the Small College World Series. The team finished the season with a 28-11 overall record and a conference championship for the first time since the 2017 season.

 

  • Jonathan Lentvorsky notched the first run of the game in the bottom of the third inning for Penn State Mont Alto as they scored one run on one hit in the inning.

 

  • Thomas Packert tied the game for Apprentice in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly to center field.

 

  • Two Apprentice home runs were paramount in the sixth and seventh innings as Apprentice scored seven unanswered runs in the game. Braden Lambert had a two home run game with six RBI's as he recorded a two-run home run in the sixth inning and followed that up with a grand slam in the seventh. 

 

  • Thomas Packert came on in relief of Apprentice starter Bryce Post and struck out eight Penn State Mont Alto in four innings pitched. Trystan Housman went six innings for Penn State Mont Alto, striking out five and scattering six hits.
