Angelina Guntert Named Penn State Mont Alto Cheerleader of the Month

By: Jen Deinline, Head Coach Cheerleading

MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto cheerleading squad has named Angelina Guntert (Gettysburg, Pa. / Littlestown) its Cheerleader of the Month for November, the first of the 2018-19 season. The award is based on nominations from the team and is given to a cheerleader who stands out in her efforts for the month.

Guntert, a senior base, was nominated by her teammates for her persistence and energy, and because of the help and care she offers to others on the squad.

"Angelina is new to the team this year, but she provides a veteran-like presence," said head coach Jennifer Deinlein. "She is steady and determined, and someone all of her teammates look up to. She may be learning as well, but she really will not give up on a stunt and that gives her flyers a lot of trust and confidence."

The Mont Alto cheerleaders cheer at all home men's and women's basketball games and make appearances at community events. They cheered their final home doubleheader of the semester on December 7 and will return to action Friday, January 11, 2019 when the women's basketball team square off against Maine-Fort Kent at 7 p.m.
