MONT ALTO, Pa. — The Penn State Mont Alto cheerleading squad has named sophomore Lauren Bowen (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) its December 2021 cheerleader of the month. 

 

"December was a rough month for us with illnesses, but Lauren stepped up and her confidence helped keep the team going," said head coach Jennifer Deinlein. "She was fearless about leading the team when we were missing our veterans. It would have been easy to sit out with so few cheerleaders available, but Lauren really helped rally the team and overall we didn't miss a beat."

 

The cheerleader of the month is determined by team nominations and goes to a squad member who stands out in her efforts on and off the court.

 

The Penn State Mont Alto cheerleading squad cheers at all home men's and women's basketball games. They return to action with a home doubleheader Friday, Jan. 14.
