UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – In the midst of finals week on campus, Penn State Mont Alto freshman forward JR Powe (Frederick, Md. / Frederick, Md / Thomas Johnson) was recognized as the final Penn State University Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the fall semester.

Powe had another outstanding week for Mont Alto as they not only closed out the month of December with a perfect record, but they also are the lone team remaining perfect within the PSUAC.

Against Scranton, he was nearly perfect from the field scoring 18 points. He had an even better performance in the coast-to-coast win over DuBois with 33 points on 13-of-20 shooting from the field. The freshman forward grabbed his third double-double of the season with 15 rebounds.

Through 12 games, the Frederick, Md., native is averaging 14.5 points per game, which is good for second on the team. He is the squads leading rebounder (9.8 rpg), while that ranks sixth within the PSUAC.

Penn State Mont Alto (10-2, 8-0 PSUAC) won nine straight to close out the fall semester and won't return to action again until Wednesday, January 8 after the holiday break. The Nittany Lions will travel and take on Williamson College of the Trades with game time slated for 7 p.m.
