Williams stuffs stat sheet in win over Scranton

Penn State Mont Alto 63, Penn State Scranton 50

 

Cameron Williams led the Mont Alto attack on Wednesday evening with 14 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and five steals as Mont Alto stayed in the race for the top spot in the PSUAC west with a 63-50 victory over Penn State Scranton. Nathan Osei also scored 14 points to go along with five boards in the win.

 

Mont Alto forced 13 Penn State Scranton turnovers in the first half on its way to taking a 36-21 halftime lead. Osei scored 12 of his 14 points in the half and Williams added seven. Justin Craigg had a strong half for Scranton with his team-leading 11 points on 4 of 8 shooting including three three-pointers. No other Scranton player had over three points in the first half. 

 

Penn State Scranton won the second half by a score of 29-27 forcing ten Mont Alto turnovers. Mont Alto went cold from deep in the second half only making one of nine attempts from downtown. Jaiden Wiggins (10) and Craigg (8) led the Scranton offense in the second half. 

 

Penn State Mont Alto was able to score more points off turnovers in the game with a margin of 32-7, scoring 16 points in fastbreak situations. They also led the points in the paint battle 24-18.
