STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Originally scheduled as a two-day tournament for Monday and Tuesday, the first day of the USCAA/PSUAC Championships was cancelled due to inclement weather. The tournament was played as a one-day event on Tuesday and the Penn State Mont Alto golf team finished 14th nationally and 6th in the PSUAC at the tournament. Saint Mary of the Woods won their second straight team title with a 292 (+4) and Colton Kuppler won the individual national championship for the Pomeroys.

Meanwhile, Penn State Lehigh Valley claimed the PSUAC Championship and Lehigh Valley's Brian Zinman earned the conference's individual title after firing a round of 73 on the par-72 Blue Course at Penn State. Mont Alto fired a team score of 331 as all golfers battled with a brisk and slightly windy afternoon.

Freshman Carson Helfrick (Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) led the Nittany Lions with the low round of the day at a +9 round of 81. He finished in a tie for 48th place. Hunter Reath (Mercersburg, Pa. / James Buchanan) was right behind him with a 54th place finish after a round of 82.

Both Paul Steiger (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) and Cameron Lee (Warrenton, Va. / Fauquier) fired rounds of 84. Jakob Werner (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) rounded out Mont Alto's golfers by shooting a 109.

Senior Erika Cauffman (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) earned USCAA National All-Academic honors. These awards are designed to recognize student-athletes (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) who have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater.
