MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer program is collaborating with the New Hope Shelter on Monday, October 14 to raise monies and support for the local organization in conjunction with the Stand for State Awareness against Patrick Henry College.

Stand for State is a Penn State initiative to raise awareness surrounding sexual and relationship violence, acts of bias, mental health, and drinking and drug use. During the duration of the game there will be giveaways including wireless speakers, wireless phone charges, food and drinks on the hills and an information table manned by Health Services.

The New Hope Shelter is a non-profit local organization in Waynesboro that provides temporary housing for the homeless from Franklin, Fulton, and Adams counties here in PA. It operates year-round and serves about 150 people a year of which one-third are children.  Every resident is provided encouragement and the tools necessary to find employment and permanent housing.

The Mont Alto soccer team will have a table setup along the hill where fans are encouraged to donate monies, cleaning supplies, paper products, personal care items, laundry detergent, and any canned goods.

Game time on Monday against Patrick Henry College is slated for 4 p.m. and if you would like to learn more about the New Hope Shelter please click here.
