Men's soccer loses non-conference regular season finale 3-2

Carlow University 3, Penn State Mont Alto 2

 

Penn State Mont Alto traveled to Highmark Stadium on Monday evening to take on Carlow University in non-conference action. Carlow's Janiver Ramison gave the home team an early 1-0 lead in the 13th minute on an assist from James Stone. The same Carlow combination put them up 2-0 in the 20th minute when Ramison found the back of the net for his second goal of the game. 

 

Penn State Mont Alto battled back and was able to tie the contest with back-to-back goals with an Alex Call unassisted goal off a rebound in the first half and a Thomas Oberholzer rebound goal in the 66th minute. 

 

Janiver Ramison broke the 2-2 tie as he completed a hat trick in the 78th minute on an assisted pass from Ian Wohlfarth. Ramison's third goal would also be the game-winner as Carlow defeated Penn State Mont Alto 3-2.

 

Brett Kauffman paced the Mont Alto attack with a team-leading two shots on goal Monday. Alex Call, Nathaniel Edey and Thomas Oberholzer each provided a shot on goal. Carlow lead the shots on goal battle over Mont Alto 10-5.

 

Scott Stanko Jr. recorded seven saves on ten shots on goal for Penn State Mont Alto.

 

Up Next: Penn State Mont Alto will travel to Penn State Lehigh Valley on Wednesday for PSUAC Quarterfinal action at 4 p.m.
